What is FBLA? |
| The Future Business Leaders of America is a club beyond any other. As a member you will be given the opportunity to test your skills in any number of fields, including math, economics, public speaking, technologies, leadership, knowledge of current events, and many more. (Click Competitive Events for a full list.) As a chapter we will attend the District 9 competition in Grand Junction, where you will compete in the team/individual events of your choice and possibly qualify for the State Leadership Conference. You will also have the opportunity to travel to Portland, Oregon for the National Fall Leadership Conference to hear and learn from some of the nation’s premier businesspeople. Within the school, you will take part in such events as the Eagle Valley/Battle Mountain Faculty Basketball Game, Turkey Bowling, the Leap Fest ’08 Dance and Spring Festival, and Mug-A-Member as well as many community service projects. You will gain experience in the real world of business and leadership while gaining values and knowledge that drive the world today. |
| As the parent of a member, you will watch your son or daughter grow into the person that you have always wanted them to become. They will advance in the areas of leadership, self respect, and confidence all while having an amazing time. You will have the opportunity to view your child’s accomplishments first hand as they make their way towards the “real world.” You will have the satisfaction of knowing that your child is gaining first hand experience that will give them an edge over everyone else once they enter today’s business world. Your son or daughter truly will achieve wonders. |
| FBLA really is much more than a business club. We are dedicated to seeing our members succeed in anything and everything that they do, from academics to competitions. We are always happy to receive new members, so contact us and get involved! |
| What are the Monday Meetings for? |
| This year we are going to try something new in FBLA. It has always been a challenge to try to fit an entire month of events into only two half-hour meetings, so we are going to have monthly evening meetings on the second Monday of every month except September to resolve this problem. Before competitions, these meetings will be used to help members prepare for their events and to hand out information. Otherwise, the evening meetings will be used to prepare for the events inside and outside of school that will occur in that month. And the best part is that there will be pizza at each one! |
